"What a privilege it is to study with Karen!
I have been fortunate to explore a variety of styles of yoga under her guidance including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin and Hatha. She embraces an approach that is trauma-informed and sensitive to the varied needs of her many students. She offers elements to challenge experienced students and options to those working with or healing from injuries. Nobody in Karen's classes goes unnoticed.
Each class is a different adventure and adds a sparkle of something exciting or unexpected, from moods that range from deeply contemplative to upbeat and up-lifting.
Sequences are often paired with beautiful stories and evocative imagery. There are always moments for us to smile broadly and to not take ourselves too seriously.
She is a powerful teacher - authentic and deeply creative. A true guide on the side, Karen stresses that students themselves are their own primary teachers.
This approach has been the single most empowering part of my personal practice - knowing that I can trust myself and what my body needs in the moment, and by extension to bring the trust and the courage that I have cultivated in her classes and extend it to my life off the mat."
